Tips for gathering evidence to demonstrate your skills

The important thing to remember when gathering evidence is that the more evidence the better - that is, the more evidence you gather to demonstrate your skills, the more confident an assessor can be that you have learned the skills not just at one point in time, but are continuing to apply and develop those skills (as opposed to just learning for the test!). Furthermore, one piece of evidence that you collect will not usualy demonstrate all the required criteria for a unit of competency, whereas multiple overlapping pieces of evidence will usually do the trick!

PSPREG504A - Manage plant movement health risk

What evidence can you provide to prove your understanding of each of the following citeria?

Assess andcontrol plant movement health risk

  1. The health and certification of plants and plant products moving into the country, state or territory are verified as meeting all commonwealth, state or territory requirements.
  2. The health of plants and plant products is certified for international, interstate and/or intrastate movement in accordance with certification requirements.
  3. Plants and plant products are inspected for pest and disease infestation and necessary treatments are recommended and monitored in accordance with organisational policy and procedures.
  4. Clients are provided with timely and accurate information and training on requirements in relation to the movement of plants and plant products.
  5. Compliance/accreditation/interstate certification agreements are entered into where appropriate and audited in accordance with organisational policy and procedures.
